Certified Peer Support Specialist

Lenawee Community Mental Health Authority is currently recruiting a full time Certified Peer Support Specialist. The candidate will:

 

  • Assist consumers by providing links to benefits and community services;
  • Encourage and coach consumers using individual and group support contacts focused on health promotion and wellness enhancing activities;
  • Participate in consumers' integration of physical and behavioral health care.

A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) and lived experience with a mental illness is required (plus lived experience with a substance use disorder [SUD] is desirable), and at least three years of sobriety and recovery is required; candidate must have received services through Medicaid, a local CMH agency, or some other publically funded source. A non-certified candidate must be able to achieve Certified Peer Support Specialist certification through the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
