Who is LCMHA?
LCMHA (Lenawee Community Mental Health Authority) provides or manages a full array of services to adults and children with mental health and/or emotional disturbances, persons with substance use disorders, and persons with developmental disabilities. What would this job entail?
The Parent Support Partner helps families engage in CMH services as well as meet with families in their homes to work on identified goals, help parents and caregivers navigate the CMH system and other systems, and assist parents with having their voices heard. The candidate will:
- Engage consumer and/or caregivers with LCMHA services.
- Support families to identify and learn techniques/strategies for use by parents and caregivers.
- Provide skilled interventions as part of the treatment plan.
- Participate in the integration of primary and behavioral health care.
The qualifications for the position are:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
- The Parent Support Partner is a person familiar with the public mental health system and is willing to self-identify as a parent of a child who has received services in the mental health system, and will work to assist other parents or families who have a child (or children) with a serious emotional disturbance.
- Must be (or have been) a day-to-day caregiver for a child who has (or had) an emotional, behavioral and/or mental health challenge; and/or intellectual developmental disabilities.
- Must have general knowledge of the public mental health system, special education system, juvenile justice system, child welfare system and other community resources, and have experience navigating at least one agency serving children.

The annualized starting wage for this part-time position (based on a 29-1/2 hour work week) is $22,304 per year.
The benefits package includes:
Employees receive a generous paid leave benefit, and paid leave begins to accrue on an employee's first day of employment; an employee would receive about 17-3/4 paid days off in the first year (based on a 29-1/2 hour work week). The number of paid leave hours an employee accrues is based on length of service; the paid leave time accruing increases after one year, five years, and ten years of employment.
Employees receive scheduled wage increases, starting after the equivalent of one year of employment.
Partially Paid Holidays -- LCMHA observes 11-1/2 paid holidays per year; employees are eligible for paid holidays as of the first day of employment.
Long-Term Disability and Life Insurance (at no cost) -- coverage starts on the 91st day of employment.
Retirement Benefits: participation starts on your first day of employment.
